Following the aspiration of many, Bryce D. Jewett, Sr. founded his own machine business in 1961. In Richmond, Virginia, he constructed a 4,000 square foot structure at the intersection of 29th and Maury Streets. To lay the foundation, he used his teenage son Bryce, Jr. and other family members. Bryce Sr. gained recognition over the course of the following 20 years for two things: the caliber of the goods he produced and the equitable treatment of both clients and staff.
