In 1947, Acme Monaco was established as Acme Spring, Incorporated. The challenge of creating a tiny ring for General Motors' New Departure Division fell to the founder, Harold Davies. As the U.S. military, aerospace, motion control, and small equipment industries boomed in the 1950s and 60s, Acme expanded into the smaller bearing ring enclosure market.
In 1965, John and Helen Karabin bought the company. There were thirteen workers at the time. Their two sons, Michael and Roger Karabin, later joined them. Michael's skill in accounting and Roger's background in engineering were a good fit as they took over as President and Executive Vice President after their father John passed away in 1983. Michael Karabin is the COB/CEO at the moment. Following Roger Karabin's resignation as President on January 1, 2008, Thomas Sebastian assumed the role and served as President until his retirement in 2016. Lucas Karabin and Rebecca Karabin-Ahern are the Co-Presidents at the moment.
