The father-son team of John and Phil Kooima established the Kooima Company in 1988 as a stamping job firm. The Kooima Company set up its first laser cutter in October 1993. Since then, Kooima Company has produced and sold its own line of parts for large agricultural machines in addition to specializing in laser cutting steel parts for other manufacturers. The company has expanded from a 16,000 square foot modest structure to a nearly 300,000 square foot production and warehouse facility. It is now the top laser-cutting job shop in the Midwest.
The division of the company that produces parts for other manufacturers was sold in December 2019 to a joint venture consisting of two steel distribution companies. Kooima Company, LLC was the new name given to this organization. We are still housed in the same Rock Valley, Iowa building. At the moment, the company employs more than 125 people. A wide range of industries, including construction, lawn care, agriculture, tool, utility, trailer, health care, and furniture, rely on us for laser cut and formed steel parts.
